SEASON AWARDS & CHAMPIONS JERSEYS

When a bowler enters an AXS Regular Season event, they earn points based on how far they advance.  These points continue to accrue for the entire year (January 1 to December 31) to determine season AXS award winners.
Bowler of the Year
The Bowler of the Year is the person who accrues the most points throughout the season.  This person earns $100 cash Bonus and new this year, a Hammer Bowling Ball,  for their efforts.  In 2022, a junior version of this award will be added with a SMART scholarship instead of cash and a bowling ball.
Junior Rookie of the Year
New in 2021, AXS will award the junior bowler who accrues the most season points a $200 SMART Scholarship.  Any Junior bowler who bowls this season is eligible as a rookie, whether they have bowled in the past or not due to this being a new award this season.
Rookie of the Year
In memory of Scott Hurne, a long time friend of the Tournament Director, who passed away too young, each season the bowler who joined AXS this season will win this award.  The bowler receives a $100 cash bonus and a Hammer bowling Ball.
Any bowler who wins an AXS tournament during the 2021 season will receive a brand new Champions jersey thanks to our sponsor, Many Styles of bowling.  The jersey will look like the one on the left (though some bowlers have requested other colors) and have "Champion" printed on the top right front of the jersey.  Other styles are available for bowlers looking to add to their tournament and league attire.

BRACKETS & SIDE POTS

AXS Events offer side pots and brackets at every event this season.  Both brackets and Side Pots are available as an option for any bowler in the event.
Brackets
Each "bracket" includes eight randomly selected bowlers on your squad. You need to bowl a higher game with handicap than the bowler you are paired against to advance out of each round. If you win three matches, you win your bracket.

*Brackets and side events will have no impact on regular tournament competition. There is no obligation to enter, but it is a great opportunity to bring home some extra winnings.

Brackets are available for Scratch and Handicap for a cost of $3 per bracket.  Bowlers may enter as many brackets as they like.  Winners get $15, second place gets $6, AXS gets $3.  Payouts may pay $1 lower per place in the event a bracket doesn't fill.
Side Pots
New this year, side pots are available for any bowler entering an AXS event.  The entry cost is $10 and covers all the events.

The breakdown for side pots is as follows:
  • $2 high handicap game each of the four games in qualifying
  • $2 strike jackpot  The strike jackpot will continue to accrue money until it is hit.  The strike jackpot combination needed to win will change whenever the jackpot is hit.

Current Jackpot:  $18
Combination to win: 8 frames of strikes over two games (see sheet at event)
